Dinner Rush (2000) on Netflix

Plot summary

The guests at Louis Cropa's Tribeca restaurant this evening include a police detective and his wife, invited by the owner himself. Upstairs, gangsters from Queens press Louis to take them on as partners in the business; in the kitchen his son Udo, the head chef, argues for a partnership of his own and resists the traditional Italian dishes his father favors. Duncan, the sous-chef, owes gambling debts to those same men, and cooks the off-menu dishes Udo has forbidden. A demanding food critic, once involved with Udo, is seated at a table, while Nicole, who works the reservations desk, is seeing both Duncan and Udo. At the bar, Ken, a stock trader, watches the room.
