Manny Perez

Biography

Manny Perez is a Dominican American actor whose credits include the television series Third Watch and the film Washington Heights. He was born in Baitoa, Santiago, in the Dominican Republic and, after finishing high school, moved to New York City to study drama at Marymount Manhattan College, where he graduated in 1992. He later trained at Ensemble Studio Theatre and became a member of the LAByrinth Theatre Company in New York. In Washington Heights, which he co-wrote and produced, his performance drew praise from many critics, and The New York Times noted his charisma. He won a Best Actor honor from the Milan International Film Festival in 2002 for that performance. The Santo Domingo Invita show honored him as one of the Dominican actors viewed as most prominent in the United States.
