Polly Draper

Polly Draper is an American actress and filmmaker who started out Off-Broadway, with a 1980 role in Split. She came to wider notice as Ellyn Warren in the ABC drama Thirtysomething from 1987 to 1991, and an Emmy nomination in the supporting actress category for a drama series followed in 1988. Her screen credits include the 1993 NBC television movie based on Danielle Steel's Heartbeat, the 1998 film The Tic Code, which she also wrote, and later Side Effects and Golden Boy, both from 2013, plus Obvious Child in 2014. She wrote, directed and acted in Stella's Last Weekend in 2018 and appeared as the mother in Shiva Baby (2021), a performance praised by IndieWire, Variety and Edge. On television she created, ran and directed Nickelodeon's The Naked Brothers Band from 2007 to 2009, work that earned Writers Guild Award recognition.
