Plot summary
With two weeks until Christmas, Greg Heffley is working to stay on Santa's good side so he can get the Mega Station 9000. His mother Susan brings out Elfrendo, a stuffed elf doll her grandmother made, said to watch the family for Santa. Greg and his friend Rowley build a snowman, and their oversized snowball rolls down Surrey Street and damages a snowplow's blade. The two run off and leave their clothes in a dumpster. On a drive through town Greg learns the dumpster was a toy donation bin, and the next day wanted posters go up. Then a snowstorm seals the family indoors, and the power fails, while Frank counts supplies that keep vanishing.
