Plot summary
Harry Agensky is a former welterweight champion living in Canada with his son Moses. Since his wife Ellie died he has been lonely, and a stroke has left him in poor health. He wants to buy a ranch in Northern Canada but has no money for it. Lance, his other son, feels his father never cared about his dreams and has little affection for him, and his own relationship with his teenage son Michael is no better. Lance proposes a skiing trip with Michael; Harry agrees, then talks him into going to Nevada instead. Harry says he threw a fight long ago and was paid off with diamonds he hid in Reno, enough to buy the ranch if he can find them. Lance is doubtful but goes along with the plan.
