Plot summary
A nun called Yulia lives in a Russian convent and is carrying twins, which she says were conceived without a father. An ancient prophecy holds that the boys will be born as a Messiah and an Antichrist. Concerned about the prophecy, the Vatican sends Father Fox and Cardinal Russo to Saint Petersburg to look into her claim. A sect called Vox Dei tries to kill the unborn babies, so the two priests extract Yulia to Estonia. They find shelter at a remote estate owned by Laura, Father Fox's fiancée, and he intends to marry her after he resigns from the Church.
