Plot summary
Newly drawn animation sits alongside clips from older cartoons and features, and each piece is handed to the viewer as a Christmas card from the character who stars in it. Jiminy Cricket, Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell appear between segments, so there is no single story to follow. The older material includes the shorts Santa's Workshop and Toy Tinkers, with Chip and Dale decorating for the holiday, and songs and scenes from Peter Pan, Bambi, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Abroad the program became a Christmas fixture; Swedish television has shown it every Christmas Eve since 1960, and in 1997 just over half the population tuned in.
