Plot summary
A military tour in the Middle East ends for Clair Hamilton when her father dies, and she comes home to claim her inheritance. Her son Charlie is seized by a gang that wants a ransom, and Clair brings a bag of money to the exchange. The meeting becomes a shootout, and one of the kidnappers, Larsen, gets away. Clair chases him and falls into a frozen lake, and Larsen pulls her out. As she recovers, she meets a black wolf. She then holds Larsen at gunpoint and makes him lead her to where Charlie is being kept. The gang's leader, Father, resents Clair's father for shutting down a mill and taking money owed to him.
