Plot summary
Kiddieland is an amusement park owned by Lou Henry and his partner Bud Flick, who share a home with Duffer and Shelley, two children without parents. Miss Mayberry, a welfare worker, judges that household unfit and moves to take the children away. Bud gambles, and he owes ten thousand dollars to Big Frank. Big Frank proposes to wipe out that debt if Bud assists him in laundering two hundred thousand dollars that Big Frank took from a bank in Chicago. Bud arranges to collect the cash and a plane ticket at the park from Big Frank's associate Mushie. Lou gets wind of the scheme and brings it to District Attorney Proctor.
