Richard Reeves
Biography
Richard Reeves was an American character actor who specialized in henchmen and thugs and worked in hundreds of film and television roles from the 1940s to the 1960s. Born in New York City and raised in Queens, he studied music before spending part of the 1930s as a seaman. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to Los Angeles and became a busy supporting player by the late 1940s and early 1950s. His height and heavy build suited bullies, robbers, and mob enforcers in crime dramas, Westerns, and sitcoms. On television he appeared five times on Adventures of Superman between 1952 and 1956 and in series such as I Love Lucy, The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Maverick, Batman, and The Munsters. He played Cliff Bartow on Cheyenne in 1955 and a police officer on My Three Sons in 1965. He died in 1967.
