Plot summary
Billy follows a delivery truck in Dexter, Maine, to pick up the newest issue of Creepshow, and the Creep introduces three stories. In Dead River, Ray and Martha Spruce run a general store where Benjamin Whitemoon, elder of a local tribe, leaves the tribe's turquoise jewelry as collateral for a debt. That night Benjamin's estranged nephew Sam comes to the store with two friends. In mid-October, Deke, Laverne, Randy and Rachel swim to a wooden raft on a distant lake, where they find a black mass on the water and remember that no caretaker is around in the off-season. In Maine, Annie Lansing, hurrying home to her husband George, loses control of her car and hits a hitchhiker, then drives on. Billy also orders a Venus flytrap bulb advertised in the comic.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Shooting "The Raft" in very cold water, actor Daniel Beer says he almost died of hypothermia. The crew wanted him to keep going, but director Michael Gornick took him to hospital, fearing that forcing him on would make him walk off the film for good; he recovered and finished the segment.
- The sequel carries three stories where the first Creepshow had five. Two more Stephen King adaptations, "Pinfall" and "Cat from Hell", were dropped on budget grounds; "Cat from Hell" was rescued later and filmed for Tales from the Darkside: The Movie.
