Daniel Beer

Daniel Beer is an actor who was born in Regensburg, Germany, and grew up in upstate New York. After high school he moved to Manhattan to pursue acting, and within three months he landed his first feature, Hell High (1987). His first major breakthrough followed in Stephen King's Creepshow 2 (1987), where he played the lead in the segment The Raft. He joined the Actors Studio two years later. Among his film roles, he played Julia Roberts's unfaithful boyfriend in Dying Young (1991) and a detective who antagonizes Keanu Reaves in Point Break (1991); he also portrayed a murderer in The Last Best Sunday and an ill-tempered husband who softens in the Western Love Finds a Home (2009). On television he guest starred on many hour-long shows, and he appeared in music videos for Michael Jackson and Paula Abdul. He is also a published writer whose work has appeared in the literary journal 34thParallel.
