Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Crash Dive (1943)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Crash Dive was Tyrone Power's last film before he was assigned to recruit training; he had already enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
- Ben Carter played messman Oliver Cromwell Jones, a rare developed African-American role in a World War II film; at that time Black sailors could only serve as cooks and messmen, and his character is a confidant to a higher ranking crew member.
- The film may have been partly inspired by the Greenland Patrol, a U.S. Coast Guard unit hunting Nazi weather stations; a station captured in June 1941 had its personnel interned in Boston, and the incident stayed classified until after Pearl Harbor.
