Plot summary
Albert Brown is a suburban would-be rapper who admires the gangsta stars he sees on television. He and his friends Euripides and Otis have talent, but they lack connections and an image to sell. They approach Gusto, a crime lord who owns a nightclub, asking for a place on the bill, and police burst in during the meeting and put Gusto in jail. Albert grabs the opportunity, taking Gusto's name and criminal past for himself as MC Gusto, while Euripides becomes Dead Mike and Otis becomes Stab Master Arson. Claiming to be freshly out of prison, the three launch the hardcore gangsta act CB4, named for Cell Block 4, and the label owner Trustus Jones signs them. Gusto holds the trio responsible for the raid and vows revenge when he gets out.
