Plot summary
Sierra Nevada Jones and her father Pop leave their Texas ranch to take up a piece of Montana land that has come to the family. Bathing in a pond along the way, Sierra Nevada is surprised by a stranger, Farrell, who carries a gun and warns her that the Indians in the territory are dangerous. Farrell rides on to hire himself out to Tom McCord, the wealthiest rancher around, in country where a good deal of rustling has been going on. McCord works with Natchakoa of the Blackfoot, whose braves do the raiding. The Joneses have their cowhand Nat Collins with them, and Sierra Nevada means to hold on to what is hers.
