Plot summary
Nancy Lowe is held by the Comanches, and Jefferson Cody bargains with them for her release. He means to return her to her husband in Lordsburg. On the trail, Ben Lane and his two men, Frank and Dobie, fall in with the pair. Lane tells them that Mrs. Lowe's husband has offered a $5,000 reward for her return, which makes her suspicious of Cody's reasons. Lane and Cody know each other from the army; Cody had a hand in Lane's court-martial for killing peaceful Indians. Cody's own wife was taken by Comanches, and Comanche warriors are on the warpath after a series of scalpings.
