Plot summary
Gray Wheeler's wedding day becomes the day she buries Grady Douglas, her fiancé. Since the two never married, Grady's attorney tells her the estate leaves her nothing, and the house they had picked out is more than she can now afford. Grady's close friends Dennis and Sam help her put her belongings in storage and take her in. Fritz, Grady's friend from childhood who directs commercials in California, stays there too, and tension builds between him and Gray. Gray also begins to find traces of a life Grady never told her about, among them money sent every month to someone she has never heard of, and she asks Fritz about the number.

- Kevin Smith said that while filming he and Lewis went to the set of the Uwe Boll film In the Name of the King, because he had heard it had Krispy Kreme doughnuts flown in by Burt Reynolds. They took boxes back to the Catch and Release set, where someone asked if they had stolen them.
