Plot summary
Stacy Hunter has a promiscuous past, and the AIDS epidemic has made her want a man she can be sure of. Her childhood friend Melissa Halpern is far more reserved, and Stacy talks her into a trip to The Oasis, a spa for singles where both hope to meet the man of their dreams. Stacy is drawn to Nick Lawrence, a struggling musician, while Vinny Falcone, an Italian-American from New Jersey who calls himself the Vin Man, keeps pressing her for attention. Melissa gets to know Matthew, a psychologist staying at the resort, and Jamie, a spa employee who takes a liking to her. The men they meet seem to want only a casual encounter.
