Victoria Jackson

Victoria Jackson, an American actress and comedian born in Miami, first gained attention through comedy performances in Los Angeles and a breakthrough on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, where she combined poetry with a handstand and appeared 20 times. From 1986 to 1992 she was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live, often serving as a Weekend Update correspondent who wandered off topic and did backbends or handstands on the desk. She became known for impressions of Zsa Zsa Gabor, Sally Struthers and Roseanne Barr. During her SNL years she appeared in films such as Baby Boom (1987), The Pick-up Artist (1987), Casual Sex? (1988), The Couch Trip (1988), UHF (1989), Family Business (1989) and I Love You to Death (1990). After leaving the show she worked mainly in lower-budget films and on television, including the Comedy Central sitcom Strip Mall and the Nickelodeon series Romeo!, plus episodes of In the Heat of the Night and The X-Files.
