Plot summary
Sidney Lipton and Garald Bradley-Smith are two British small-time con men, and each is the double of a nuclear physicist. The scientists, Doctor Hicklar and Sir John Bevistock, are inept researchers who are convinced they have created an endless source of energy. The con men use the resemblance to reach the safe deposit boxes of the two researchers and take the fusion formula. That theft pulls the pair into a tangle of spies and international intrigue, and the spies force Sidney and Garald to keep posing as the look-alike scientists while they peddle cheap-energy fusion. Bidders from several countries want the formula.
