Plot summary
Petula Thames and Tilda Darlings are young artists in New York who support themselves by selling drugs. After police nearly catch them and they lose their stash and money, their supplier gives them two days to repay what they owe. They turn to Daphne Peters, a wealthy childhood friend who lives alone in a remote rural home and whose mental state is fragile. They plan to search her mansion for a safe filled with money. Daphne draws them back into an elaborate fantasy game they played as children. Tilda takes the part of a young girl, Daphne plays her mother, and Petula is a visiting doctor. Three rules govern the game: everyone must play, no outsiders are allowed, and nobody leaves.
