Plot summary
Yuri Boyka is a free man who earns his living in underground fights in Kyiv, with Kiril handling his affairs as manager. In one of those fights he accidentally kills an opponent named Viktor, and the death leaves him asking what he is fighting for. He learns that Viktor had a wife, Alma, and he tells Kiril to arrange a fake passport so that he can travel to Russia. In the town of Drovny, Alma waits tables in a fighting club run by a crime boss, Zourab, and she is in debt to him. Zourab is looking for a fighter, so Boyka proposes a bargain: he will step into the club's ring in return for Alma's freedom. Zourab agrees and names three matches.
