Plot summary
Stranglings terrify Boston in the early 1960s. Albert De Salvo is a small-time criminal with a quick tongue and a strong sex drive. Behind bars he meets a cell mate who is manipulating him and who knows more about the killings than he lets on. The two of them plot to claim the murders for themselves and collect the reward. Detective John Marsden believes no single man committed them; he pushes for the truth and runs into the bureaucracy of the day.
