Blue Gender: The Warrior (2002) on Netflix

Plot summary

Yuji Kaido is diagnosed with a serious illness, and because no cure is known, he is placed in cryogenic suspension. He wakes more than twenty years later to a changed planet: the bug-like species called the Blue has spread across the Earth and humanity has been nearly eradicated. A few people have retreated to a space station named Second Earth, and Yuji is brought there. On the station he learns that others were also frozen, and that they are to be used as a force against the Blue. He joins soldiers who are equipped with powerful mechas to fight the Blue.
