Plot summary
Shahina, from a well-off family in Ponnani, and Faisil, Jabbar's son, married in a lavish ceremony. A misunderstanding at a night party turned their families against each other, and the marriage ended in divorce. Their friend Mira later brings them the truth, and the two wish to marry again. But the faith they follow allows a couple to remarry only if the woman first marries another man, stays with him at least a day, and he pronounces Talaq. Faisil, his father and Shahina's uncle look for a man who will agree to that. They settle on Remis, who accepts the terms: the Nikah, a night with Shahina, Talaq in the morning, and a large sum of money in return.
