Plot summary
At the Richardson ranch in Northern California, the family has gathered to celebrate the pregnancy of the household's 28-year-old daughter. An unexpected visitor breaks up the occasion: Aksel Brandr, who belongs to a Satanic cult and comes on behalf of its leader, Henrik Brandr. His errand concerns the family's land. In exchange for ownership of the property, the cult offers a large sum of money. Jacob Richardson, the father of the family, hears the offer and refuses it, since the ranch's sentimental value to him and his family is worth more than any payment the cult proposes for the land.
