Giovanni Lombardo Radice

Giovanni Lombardo Radice was an Italian actor, writer and theater director who worked largely in horror and became a cult figure in that genre, sometimes billed as John Morghen. Born in Rome, he trained for the stage and founded a Shakespearean company, The Swan Company, at 19, acting in the theater for several years before Ruggero Deodato cast him in The House on the Edge of the Park (1980). He then appeared in cult horror films such as City of the Living Dead (1980), Cannibal Ferox (1981), Stage Fright (1987) and The Church (1989), often as a villain. His characters tended to meet gruesome ends, and he later said he wished he had never played Mike Logan in Cannibal Ferox. He died in 2023.
