Plot summary
Mikey and JP Lindel grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi, with only each other to lean on. As adults their paths split: JP builds up a construction company, while Mikey gets by on small-time crime. After Mikey leaves jail, Sal, a detective and a longtime friend of JP's, tells him that Mikey is using drugs. JP lends Mikey $10,000 for his daughter's braces, and Mikey spends it on drugs he means to resell. The drugs are stolen, and Mikey is left with nothing. Eddie King, a mobster, takes Mikey and calls JP with a demand for $350,000, sending photographs of a beaten Mikey as proof. JP refuses to pay at first and, with Sal, starts chasing leads.
