Plot summary
Renton wakes in bed beside Hannah, his former lover. Three men break into the room, and when Renton dies trying to escape, he wakes again at the same moment and lives the break-in over. The intruders' leader, Father, says he speaks for the Bloc, a rebel group, and demands the scrips Renton stole from the Torus Corporation. Father, Sonny and Brother bind the two of them to chairs and go to eat in another room. Renton built the ARQ, a perpetual motion machine, while he worked for Torus, and then took it. Hannah urges him to hand the scrips over; he cuts them loose and tries to escape instead.

- Tony Elliott's ARQ script sat in development hell for years after being optioned; once the rights reverted to him, Netflix contacted his producer and offered to produce the film rather than Elliott having to pitch it.
- The idea for ARQ dates back to 2008, before writer-director Tony Elliott worked on Orphan Black: the show's creators hired him on the strength of the unproduced ARQ script.
