Plot summary
The videotape Robert Zorkin carries into Moscow shows Russian missiles leaving a base outside the city in darkness. Zorkin is a CIA agent, and he has brought his wife Susan with him. No one knows whether the missiles are meant to be aimed at the United States or smuggled to a terrorist organization, and the Americans want the answer. Armstrong, a former comrade of Zorkin's, is the one man who might discover their destination. He trains an elite Russian anti-terrorist squad, and its commander, General Zukov, is an officer of the old guard who is corrupt and ruthless and will do anything to gain control.
