Plot summary
Zamindar Rajasekhar blames his daughter Jyothi for her mother's death in childbirth and, when the child insists a spirit roams their home, sends her to a boarding school. Years later a court order forces him to open a sealed room at the village temple, where nothing is found, and soon after his driver Durai is electrocuted. Jyothi returns for the funeral and meets her childhood sweetheart, Saravanan. The spirit she once saw now troubles her young relative Shalu, and in her late mother's room a falling chandelier nearly kills Jyothi, stopped by a portrait of her mother. Shalu is doused in paint thinner and chased by flames until her father, Ravi, rescues her. Jyothi asks Ravi to investigate.
