Plot summary
In 1948, Kadhiresan sees a palace that King Veera Sethupathi has built and wishes to own one like it. Kadhiresan's family later dies in their sleep in that palace, and their spirits remain trapped there. Among them is Shanmugam, the family's dead cook, who says a mysterious force makes him poison the palace's inhabitants every full moon. In the present day, Rudra and her relatives are small-time thieves feuding with two rival thieves. Their dispute brings them before Inspector Kadhir, Kadhiresan's great-great-grandson. Kadhir and his grandfather Vikram want to sell the palace but cannot because of rumors that it is haunted. Kadhir offers Rudra's family the job of cleaning it and staying until the full moon. They agree, intending to loot the palace.
