Plot summary
In Panimalai, a hill city, a guest on a live radio show loses his voice on air and learns he has a new virus known as the mute flu. Health Minister Sundaralingam is sent to the town by the state government, and residents line up for medical checkups. Aravind, a sales representative for a glue company, hopes to become a radio jockey; at his checkup he meets Anjana, a junior doctor. Anjana believes that talking causes most of the world's problems and that people would be better off keeping things to themselves. She is engaged to Vinodh, who commands what she should do and wear. Aravind argues that speaking openly settles matters, and the two become friends. Fans of the film star Bhoomesh and the Drinkers Association, led by Ravi and Ganesh, clash over how his films portray drunkards.
