Plot summary
Antrum presents itself as a cursed film from the 1970s whose screenings were followed by deaths, a fire in Budapest and a riot in California, after which the print vanished. In 2018 a copy surfaces, and a documentary crew has the 35 mm reel examined by scientists and experts, who find disorienting sounds and subliminal imagery in it, along with black-and-white fragments that look like a snuff film. The documentary then shows the film itself. In it, Oralee and Nathan's dog Maxine has been euthanized. Their mother jokes that Maxine was sent to Hell for being bad, which disturbs Nathan, and his dreams fill with demons. Oralee stages a ritual to ease his mind, showing him a sketchbook of arcane drawings she says came from a classmate named Ike, then leading him into a nearby forest.

- Principal photography on Antrum lasted one month in Southern California, on a low budget with only a handful of production staff; Amito said the team was "wildly understaffed, wildly underfunded and unprepared for this month long shoot".
- Scenes with Tompkins' and Smyth's characters were shot in a one-hundred acre, privately owned forest, where the filmmakers had been granted special permission to shoot.
- For the film's occult imagery, Amito and Laicini drew most of Antrum's symbols and runes from a 17th Century text called the Lesser Key of Solomon.
