Plot summary
Scott Lang's memoir has made him famous, and he shares a home with his girlfriend, Hope van Dyne. Cassie, his teenage daughter, helps people displaced by the Blip, and father and daughter have drifted apart. At the home of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, Hope's parents, Cassie shows a device she built to make contact with the Quantum Realm. Janet shuts it off at once, but the message has already gone through. A portal opens and pulls the five of them inside, along with several ants from Hank's lab. Kang the Conqueror rules the Quantum Realm, and its natives fight against that rule. Scott and Cassie are found by those rebels while Hope, Janet and Hank search a vast city for answers.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Over 50 crew members working on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny caught norovirus in a September 2021 outbreak at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire; the main cast was not affected.
- Quantumania's gross production budget reached $326.6 million, over 63% more than the $200 million first estimated, although a $50.6 million reimbursement from the UK government cut the net budget to $276 million.
- A release-date shift cut Quantumania's post-production period by four-and-a-half months, forcing reportedly at least 10 rushed visual effects scenes; effects houses also working on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever diverted "critical resources" to that film.
- In March 2023 Marvel Studios sought subpoenas against Reddit and Google to identify whoever leaked Quantumania's script and subtitle file in January 2023, and the subreddit r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers went private in response.
- Jonathan Majors was cast as Kang the Conqueror without an audition, after Marvel Studios were eager to work with him over The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019); director Peyton Reed and Loki's Kate Herron and Michael Waldron were all involved in the casting.
- Kathryn Newton, who joined Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as Cassie Lang, originally auditioned for the role of Kate Bishop in the Disney+ miniseries Hawkeye (2021), a part that went to Hailee Steinfeld.
- Industrial Light & Magic gave Quantumania the same StageCraft virtual production technology that director Peyton Reed had used while directing episodes of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
- The company Perception designed Quantumania's main-on-end title sequence, emulating the visuals of the Quantum Realm with fluid motion and microscopic chemical reactions.
