Plot summary

Dylan, the eldest son Lynn has been separated from for years, is getting married at her parents' Annapolis estate, and she travels there with her three younger children, Elliot, Alice and Ben. She wants to be heard by Doris, her aloof mother, by Joe, her ailing father, and by her judgmental sisters Bonnie and Donna, and most of all by her ex-husband Paul, who has come with his hot-tempered second wife Patty. Elliot, wry and troubled, aims remarks at his mother and the relatives, while Alice works to keep her longtime demons in check. Half-buried truths behind the family's resentments keep rising, and Lynn's attempts at reconciliation go off course.
