Plot summary
At night in the woods, Carl, Vicky, Douglas and Barbara are pursued by a creature, and Barbara is killed. Time passes. Five students arrive in the same forest to hike: Alissa, her boyfriend Matt, her stepbrother Jeff, Jeff's girlfriend Mandy, and their friend Sean. Jeff wants to find the waterfall he and Alissa knew as children. By the time they head back to the car it is dark. They come upon the remains of a body and then the creature, which drives them to a cabin where Carl, Vicky and Douglas are sheltering behind boarded windows. The five reach the door and are let in. The creature nearly forces its way inside before they drive it back.
