Jeremy Sumpter
Biography
Jeremy Sumpter is an American actor who came to acting by way of modeling, entering the International Modeling and Talent Association in Kentucky at eleven before moving to Los Angeles. Born in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, he landed his first film part in Frailty (2002) as the young Adam Mieks, a performance that earned him a Saturn Award nomination. A Young Artist Award followed for the Showtime movie Just a Dream, opposite Danny Glover. At thirteen he was cast as the title character in Peter Pan (2003), doing nearly all his own stunts after training in sword fighting, gymnastics and weightlifting, and he won both Saturn and Young Artist awards for it. He also played J. D. McCoy in the NBC series Friday Night Lights from 2008 to 2010, and appeared in Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life (2005), An American Crime (2007), Calvin Marshall (2009), Soul Surfer (2011) and Into the Storm (2014) as a storm chaser's cameraman.
