Plot summary
Jem Stoker, a retired veteran, leaves his wife Nessa and their son Brian and sets out for a remote forest, where his brother Ray lives as a recluse. Ray is a retired veteran too, who served in Northern Ireland before he withdrew from the world. The brothers have been estranged for a long time. Jem has brought a letter from Nessa that asks Ray to come home and talk to Brian, who was sent back from the army after he hurt a colleague. Jem stays with Ray at the hut, and he presses his brother to come back home with him.

- While filming Anemone in Handbridge, Chester, traffic wardens posted parking tickets on several 1980s prop vehicles parked on double-yellow lines, and Cheshire West and Chester Council had rejected a full road closure during filming as too disruptive for residents.
- Daniel Day-Lewis ended his retirement from acting to star as Ray Stoker in Anemone, his first role since Phantom Thread in 2017, and co-wrote the script with his son Ronan Day-Lewis, who directed the film.
