Plot summary
On the Fourth of July a grandfather tells his grandchildren the story of Michael Malone, a documentary filmmaker who wants the holiday abolished and refuses to spend it with his family. Malone's film Die, You American Pigs! has brought him attention, and he is already at work on another one, Fascist America. Three Afghan terrorists decide that Malone despises the United States, so they pose as producers and ask him to make a feature that will help them recruit. On the night of July 3, Malone watches an address by President John F. Kennedy, reads it as a plea to avoid war at any cost, and Kennedy comes out of the television set to correct him and tell him that three spirits will visit.
