Plot summary
Mack David McElroy does not know what his job is. After each shift, the company erases his memory. The job spares him a difficult boss and hard people at work. He sometimes arrives home with bruises, and the pay makes that acceptable to him. His life looks perfect to him. Then his girlfriend Jill Elisabeth Meurer becomes his fiancee, and she gives him a choice: find out what the work involves and prove it is not dangerous, or quit.
