Plot summary
Julie Evans joins a squad of soldiers traveling into the jungles of Belize in 2011. The assignment is described as plant surveillance along hostile state borders, but the team comes across an abandoned boat in an open field, with the nearest ocean 150 miles away, and a camera recovered from it holds underwater footage that ends with a man screaming. They make camp and set security cameras; by morning there are markings on trees near Julie's sleeping area and one camera has been wrecked. New orders arrive: an archaeological team led by Dr. Holden has disappeared, and the group must head for the place where it was last seen.
