Plot summary
The crime writer Agatha Christie cannot collect the American royalties owed to her on her published books. Bombs are falling on London, and she decides to raise money by selling a manuscript privately. In that manuscript she kills off Hercule Poirot, her most famous creation. She hires a bodyguard, who will take a share of the price. The deal is to be completed at a hotel, where she and the bodyguard meet the buyers and other guests.
