Plot summary
Tessa Young begins an internship at Vance Publishing after her breakup with Hardin Scott, and her first encounter with coworker Trevor Matthews is awkward. Her work impresses Christian Vance, the owner, who brings Tessa, Trevor, and Kimberly, his secretary and girlfriend, to a work event near Seattle. At a nightclub, she and Trevor win over a businessman weighing an investment in the firm, and a drunk Tessa calls Hardin. He tracks her to her hotel room, finds Trevor half-dressed with clothes drying after she spilled wine on them, and throws him out. Hardin and Tessa argue, and then spend the night together.
