Plot summary
Isabel Andersen co-founded an orphanage in Tamil Nadu and is reluctant to make the trip to New York because of her duties there. Jai, whom she found on the street as a one-year-old, is the child closest to her at the orphanage and does not want her to leave. Theresa Young, a millionaire CEO and philanthropist, is a potential benefactor who insists on meeting her face to face, so Isabel agrees to go. That meeting falls a day ahead of the wedding of Grace, Theresa's daughter, who is about to marry Jonathan, and Theresa extends a wedding invitation out of courtesy. Isabel feels she should attend.
