Plot summary
Hardin Scott has spent a year missing Tessa Young, who left him after she found the manuscript he had written about their love story. His publisher, Katherine, wants a follow-up to his best-seller before the year is out, but Hardin cannot write and keeps flashing back to Tessa. Over lunch, his mother and his birth father scold him for wallowing; he calls Tessa his muse. His mother urges him to make peace with his past and mentions Natalie, someone from his youth who now lives in Lisbon. Hardin flies to Portugal and turns up at the bridal shop where Natalie works.
