Plot summary
Officers are hunting a burglar they have nicknamed Goliath, and the K-9 team of Daniel Harding and his dog Ace joins the pursuit into the woods. There Ace brings the man down out of Daniel's sight. Officers who reach the scene see cuts on the man's neck and take them for bite marks, and the case against him falls apart on sketchy evidence, so he faces no charges. Ace is reclassified as a biter, and the district attorney presses police to have him put down. Daniel, who cannot show what happened in the woods, drives Ace to a veterinary hospital in Spokane.
