Plot summary
Paul Morse is six days away from marrying Karen Cooper in Seattle. His friends throw him a bachelor party, and there he talks with a dancer named Becky Jackson; the two get along well. He wakes the next morning to find Becky in his bed and cannot remember the night. He assumes the worst and is desperate for Karen not to find out. He hurries Becky out of his apartment and tells Karen a lie to keep the wedding on course. That lie grows through the week of preparation. Becky keeps turning up in the places Paul goes, and relatives and friends arrive at the worst moments.
