Plot summary
Mine That Bird is an American thoroughbred, undersized and with crooked feet, and a misfit group of cowboys from New Mexico bring him along. Chip Woolley trains the horse, and Mark Allen is one of the horse's owners. The horse qualifies for the 2009 Kentucky Derby, and the group sets out on the trip to Churchill Downs. Mishaps mark the way, and the cowboys have to get past them before they even reach Kentucky. There the blue bloods of Kentucky racing and the sport's elite await, and the New Mexico group arrives as the underdogs in a final showdown with them.
