Plot summary
Lester, Tony and Amber are three performers trying to build careers in Hollywood, and each of them measures whatever work comes their way against a star they would rather be. Lester admires Louis CK, though the industry keeps steering him toward Chris Rock. Tony holds Tom Hanks up as his model, while the parts that reach him are the Chinese delivery boy. Amber is convinced the next Jennifer Lawrence should be her. The three of them keep chasing the Hollywood dream anyway, with romances that cross racial lines, relatives who complicate things, and the sense that success may never come.
